# Providers

> Connect cloud accounts and manage their buckets and objects

The **Providers** view presents connected provider records in a map or list. A provider record associates a display name and provider brand with an uploaded credential file. The map is a workspace visualization; lines between nodes do not represent a live cloud network connection.

## Add a provider

1. Open **Providers** > **Manage**.
2. Select the add-provider control.
3. Choose **Add from File**, select a provider brand that is running in your deployment, and upload its credential file.
4. Set a connection name and upload the file. OAuth connection actions are not available in the current interface.
5. Open the provider using **Configure** (or double-click its map node) to load its buckets.

The backend accepts a credential upload up to 10 MiB and requires a non-empty file. Provider-specific parser requirements still apply. A provider component must be running in the deployment.

## Inspect, rename, or delete

Open **Configure** to browse buckets and objects. Use **Rename** to change the display name. **Delete provider** removes the Merops provider record and its cached connection key; it does not delete the cloud account or its buckets. Confirm the deletion dialog before proceeding.

In list view, search and sort providers by brand, name, and synchronization state. In map view, move provider nodes and save their positions; you can also export the map. The displayed synchronization state is derived from scheduled sync data.

## Browse buckets and objects

In a provider's **Configure** panel, select a bucket to list its objects. Use refresh to reload the current list and back to return to the bucket list. Select an object to open its preview when its file type is supported.

The visualizer previews common image files (`png`, `jpg`, `jpeg`, `img`, `bmp`, `webp`, `gif`, `svg`) and text files (`txt`, `md`, `json`). Other extensions show an unavailable-preview state. Large objects may take time to retrieve because the view fetches the object content.

## Manage buckets and objects

* **Create bucket** opens a form for a new bucket name.
* **Delete bucket** opens a confirmation dialog. The current interface requires **Also delete all contents** to be selected before enabling deletion. This removes data in that bucket.
* **Send new object** lets you select a local file and upload it to the current bucket path after confirmation.
* **Rename provider** changes its display name.
* **Delete provider** removes the connection from Merops; it does not delete the cloud account or buckets.

For credential-file formats and provider access steps, use the relevant page under [Providers](/providers.md). For bucket and object operation coverage and known limitations, see [Services → Bucket](/services/object-storage.md).
