# Common errors

| Symptom | Possible cause | What to try |
| - | - | - |
| Invalid credentials / provider connect error | Key is incorrect, revoked, malformed, or lacks provider access | Recreate or rotate credentials in the provider console; validate accepted fields in its guide. |
| Provider unavailable | Its provider component is not running in this Merops deployment | Ask the deployment operator to check provider component health. |
| Bucket list is empty or fails | Account has no visible buckets, list permission is missing, or region/endpoint is wrong | Check the account in the provider console and verify the credential scope and region. |
| Bucket creation fails | Name conflict, provider naming/location restriction, or missing create permission | Check provider rules and permissions; try a valid unique name. |
| Migration returns an error | Read/write denied, destination creation failed, provider API issue, or partial transfer | Check both credentials and inspect destination contents before retrying. |
| Login says too many attempts | Backend login attempt limit was reached | Wait before retrying and confirm email/password. |

Causes are possibilities unless the error explicitly identifies them. Remove secrets and data before sharing logs.
