Create and use a bucket

In the AWS Management Console, open Amazon S3 and choose Create bucket. Choose the AWS Region and configure access, encryption, versioning, and other settings for your use case. Bucket names are unique across the AWS partition. Open a bucket to upload, download, copy, or delete objects. To delete a bucket, first empty it and check for versioned objects; deletion cannot be undone and a bucket name may later be reused by another account.

Change settings and manage objects

Open the bucket in the S3 console to review its Properties and Permissions. Depending on the bucket and account configuration, you can change settings such as versioning, encryption, lifecycle rules, and access controls. Some properties, including the bucket name and region, cannot be changed after creation. From the bucket’s object list, upload a new object, download or copy an existing one, or delete it. Uploading with the same object key replaces the current object version unless versioning preserves it. See AWS’s Amazon S3 getting started guide and bucket deletion instructions.

Use it with Merops

Connect this provider with the Merops connection guide. Merops currently supports object storage operations across its connected providers. The provider console remains the place to configure provider-specific settings and to carry out management actions that Merops does not expose. Before deleting a bucket or object, verify the account, region, and target. Some deletions are permanent or remove all contained data.
