To connect OVHcloud, create or choose an Object Storage user, retrieve its S3 access key and secret key, and save them in a local text file for import into Merops. The secret key is shown when the user is created; it can also be viewed later from the user’s actions menu.

Create or select an Object Storage user

  1. In the OVHcloud Control Panel, open Public Cloud, select your project, then open Object Storage from the storage section.
  2. Open Users or Object Storage Users.
  3. Select Create User, or choose an existing OpenStack user. An existing user must have the ObjectStore operator or Administrator role.
  4. Save the access key shown in the users list. Copy the secret key shown after creating the user, or open the user’s … menu and select View secret key.

Grant access to a bucket

The user must be associated with the bucket it needs to access. On the bucket’s … menu, choose Add a user to a container, select the user, continue, configure its access, and confirm. When creating a bucket, you can also associate a user during the creation flow.

Prepare the credential file

Create a local plain-text file, for example ovhcloud-credentials.txt, with the following lines. Replace the placeholders with the keys from OVHcloud; do not include angle brackets.
OVH_DEFAULT_REGION is optional; use the lowercase region associated with your Object Storage resources (for example, gra). OVH_OFFER is also optional and can be standard or perf. Merops accepts this key/value format, as well as YAML and the AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID / AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY aliases.

Import the credentials in Merops

  1. In Merops, open Providers and choose Add provider.
  2. Select OVHcloud, import the text file, and enter a display name if requested.
  3. Open the new connection and check that its Object Storage resources load.
Credential upload accepts a non-empty file up to 10 MiB. A successful import confirms that Merops parsed the file; it does not prove that the identity can perform every operation. Check permissions guidance. For OVHcloud’s current interface steps, see its guides to identity and access management and getting started with S3-compatible Object Storage. Labels may vary slightly with the Control Panel language or updates.
